The past 6 weeks has been an unbelievable journey for the whole team, and tonight we’ve all become a bit emotional about it all coming to an end…. Team 3, you’re going to have a blast.

2 Sleeps.

……………..BRING IT ON TEAM 2!!!!

Exhibitors, sponsors, partners, event attendees, catering, VIPs… everyone can’t wait.( Even Mark Menzies).

There’s even talk of a twitter trending topic #leadersfete. Yeah, we’re keeping it real….

We have had an overwhelming amount of support from our work colleagues, friends and family (thank you + *hugs*) – which is great  because we’ve hit our target numbers Yes, you can still sign up, but we’d prefer it if you did it by 9am tomorrow so you get a name badge!!

The next question is… what are you going to wear?! OMG.

Team 2 just finished their 9pm teleconference – we’re all just ready to have a beer & show everyone a good time!!!

Dear Diary,

Last weekend together as “Team 2″ pre-FLF-event (sad times).

Well it’s definetly been a majorly busy week for the entire team. Manic actually. We have made more phone calls & sent more emails this week than any other week. Here’s to not getting fired from our day jobs.

Admittedly, we’ve had success and we’ve had failure, some people just won’t return our calls.

Some have picked up the call and said “Hey Team 2— I want IN”. We liked those calls.

With every challenge we know there will be hurdles (take note Team 3), but in the past 24 hours we have learnt to really bond as a team and overcome a sticky situation as a team.

We have been really excited at the prospect of having fit men in underpants at our event, mainly because well – we like men in their pants (*quote* Anna & Triona). Especially when they’re wearing a brand we believe in. Unfortunately at the last minute one of our exhibitors decided to pull out with no explanation whatSOever, less than one week before the event. This made us [really] sad.

We had promised our attendees something fun in the lingerie department….

Well thanks to a MUCH cooler brand, we have had a last minute miracle. Infact, it’s unbelievable and extremely timely given our event draws upon rising stars, future leaders, and brands we believe will carry us into a better future.

Introducing our saviour (Hello Sailor), and the new brand of undies both girls + boys will be buying from now on, Pants to Poverty.

A fashion label that changes the world in which we live. We can’t wait to have them on board, follow them on twitter @pantstopoverty we think they’re fabulous.

Meanwhile……………ticket sales are soaring, we have a huge night ahead of us. Now down to the fun stuff. Music + decorations

The team have been extraordinarily busy, but the event is starting to gain a lot of interest thanks to the Business Zone readers, TNT Readers, NACUE, Courvoisier Future 500 & School for Startups interest…

The event is shaping up to be a bit glam (please refer to dork below) a bit fun – but we’re worried people will leave buying their tickets till Monday, which will leave us in a sticky situation in the kitchen! So please, if you’re reading this, buy your ticket NOW.

With less than a week to go, we’re down to the finer details now, all the fun stuff!

Triona and Anna visited the London Film Museum yesterday and are totally excited about the plans for layout and decorations.

We are ecstatic that we’ll be serving Jansz Tasmania Premium Non Vintage Cuvee alongside Penfolds wine and Crown lager.

We’ve also created a truly delicious menu of posh fete food with our caterers.

All of this plus a great goodie bag from Fitness First  for £30 (+ vat)… It’s really quite a bargain for a great night out!

Let the fun begin.

We had a feeling tonight, that next Wednesday the 28th is going to be a good night.

Actually, a great night.

Tonight the team met at BDA, (no not the british dental association) – the fabulous industry experts in creative … BDA handle some of the world’s largest brands & their film crew are lovely. They filmed our meeting with our mentors (entertaining & slightly funny), they also filmed us individually and got the down-low on “behind the scenes” goss.

We decided as a team, maybe a film career is doubtful. Theo couldn’t stand on one spot while talking to the camera and kept banging his microphone. Triona couldn’t refrain from swearing & staring directly into the camera, even though she was asked not to repeatedly. Anna couldn’t stop giggling & lost her train of thought numerous times. That said – Alex was apparently perfect, but we don’t believe him.

Today Aussie Man & Van came on board as Gold sponsors, we can’t tell you how fun this night is shaping up to be. They are going to be helping us on the day before the event! Let the booze flow, the food be served to perfection and may the fun surprises excite you.

Today instilled a sense of relief and motivation to really deliver something we believe in as a team.

Roll up, roll up…  fabulous news!

We have a new sponsor on board, Fitness First! AMAZING.

Dear Diary,

OMG.

Today Triona was working at her part-time office Home House, and plucked up the courage to personally invite Mr Richard Farleigh (Challenge Series Judge panellist) to our event.

He said “Future Leaders Fete, cool title”. Triona managed to sit down and talk to him for a good 15 minutes and reiterate how fabulous the event would be and that he had to attend. He didn’t confirm his attendance, he’s a busy guy — but he did say, “28th July. County Hall, sounds good”. Shook her hand and said his goodbyes. To Triona, that was as much of a confirmation as she needed.

In other news, we have an AMAZING Guest Speaker lined up – he too is worthy of an *OMG*.

Mark Menzies (MP) brings with him a wealth of credibilty, experience and enthusiasm for young leaders- what a night we have ahead of ourselves!

So much to tell you, but more about that tomorrow.
